To date, more than ten variations have graced Grand Seiko mechanical watches, starting with 2006’s reference SBGL001. Its subtle, radiating appearance recalls the striations of the peak in its many guises at different times and seasons when viewed from above.
Exclusive to Boutique Online, the SLGH019 "Mt. Iwate at Midnight" finds inspiration in the appearance of the famous peak in the dark of night. It’s the first Mt. Iwate dial to grace a watch from the Evolution 9 Collection, which means it’s also the first to feature the updated hands and indexes that make for a more highly reflective and legible watch in all kinds of light.
It also comes with a case and bracelet completely redesigned with comfort and ergonomics in mind. A lower center of gravity and a wider tapered bracelet create enhanced stability on the wrist.
This is the first Mt. Iwate to feature the latest generation of 9S movement, the Hi-Beat 9SA5. Caliber 9SA5 is an uncommon horological achievement the likes of which fine watchmaking sees perhaps once in a generation. It has an entirely new escapement, engineered and built in-house by Grand Seiko with an easy-to-adjust free-sprung balance and highly efficient power transfer to the balance.

Products may be returned to Grand Seiko Boutique Online within 14 days of the delivery date. Option for a return and refund or exchange is possible when the watch is returned in new, unworn condition, with all original contents included in the package. Upon receiving your return, Grand Seiko will verify the condition of the watch. If there are any missing items, damage, or wear found, you may be subject to fees accordingly. Please be sure to remove any jewelry or other watches before trying on the watch to avoid damage. Please do not size the watch if you return it as it will not be considered new.
