2020 is a special year for Grand Seiko; it marks 60 years since the release of the first Grand Seiko timepiece in 1960. The first watch bearing the Grand Seiko name featured a 14k gold filled case and a slim movement with precision that met the highest international standards of the time. To honor that timepiece, a new re-creation of the first Grand Seiko watch from 1960 takes a permanent place in Grand Seiko's collection.
In line with today’s trends, the case diameter has been increased from 35mm to 38mm. The case shape and the softly curved dial and hands are entirely faithful to the 1960 original, capturing the essence of what made that watch so special. The case is rendered in Brilliant Hard Titanium, exclusive to Grand Seiko. It is as light as pure titanium but twice as hard as stainless steel, making it highly resistant to scratches. Its color is also brighter than the other forms of titanium used by Grand Seiko, which allows the Zaratsu polished surfaces to stand out even more prominently. Visible through an exhibition window on the case back is caliber 9S64, a mechanical manual winding movement with 72 hours of power reserve.

Upon receiving your return, Grand Seiko will verify the condition of the watch. If there are any missing items, damage, or wear found, you may be subject to fees accordingly. Please be sure to remove any jewelry or other watches before trying on the watch to avoid damage. Please do not size the watch if you return it as it will not be considered new.
