The SBGD228 draws inspiration from the lion, a symbol of strength and ambition that has defined Grand Seiko since its earliest days. Through a radiant composition of diamonds, garnets, and deep red tones, this high-jewelry creation captures the intensity and presence of this enduring emblem.
Set within an 18k rose gold case, over 250 diamonds are meticulously arranged across the case and dial, while rich red garnets mark the hours. At the center, a wine-red mother-of-pearl surface introduces depth and iridescence, creating a dynamic interplay of light while preserving Grand Seiko’s commitment to legibility.
At its core is the Spring Drive Caliber 9R01, crafted by the Micro Artist Studio in Shinshu. This hand-finished movement features a three-barrel architecture, delivering an exceptional 8-day power reserve alongside remarkable precision. Visible through the sapphire case back, its design reflects the landscapes of Shinshu, subtly evoking Mount Fuji, the rising sun, and the lights of Suwa.

Products may be returned to Grand Seiko Boutique Online within 14 days of the delivery date. Option for a return and refund or exchange is possible when the watch is returned in new, unworn condition, with all original contents included in the package. Upon receiving your return, Grand Seiko will verify the condition of the watch. If there are any missing items, damage, or wear found, you may be subject to fees accordingly. Please be sure to remove any jewelry or other watches before trying on the watch to avoid damage. Please do not size the watch if you return it as it will not be considered new.
