In 2020, Grand Seiko revealed its first jewelry masterpiece, reference SBGD205. That watch featured 96 carefully selected diamonds and 25 sapphires atop a “diamond dust” dial, and was inspired by the winter mornings of the Shinshu region, which is where Grand Seiko produces their Spring Drive timepieces. It’s also where the skilled craftsmen and women of the Micro Artist Studio have been making masterpieces based on Spring Drive since 2000.
Reference SBGD207 is the latest jewelry masterpiece from the Micro Artist Studio. Inspired by the green hues of Mishaka Pond, the dial is green mother-of-pearl. There are 12 garnets set around the dial to act as hour markers. Additionally, there are 48 baguette diamonds representing the minutes, all arranged side by side and set into an 18k white gold base. The gems are placed horizontally so that they catch the light evenly, and the garnet at twelve o’clock is wider for legibility. The arrangement of the diamonds and sapphires requires great dexterity; the gems are set between a very thin pair of rails by the most skilled of the jewelry craftsmen and women at the Shinshu Watch Studio.
The watch is powered by the manual-winding 8-Day Spring Drive Caliber 9R01, a movement devised by the elite team of watchmakers at the Micro Artist Studio. The case is made of Platinum 950 and is finished with a form of Zaratsu polishing that is specially adapted for working with platinum to create the brilliant look that defines Grand Seiko.

Products may be returned to Grand Seiko Boutique Online within 14 days of the delivery date. Option for a return and refund or exchange is possible when the watch is returned in new, unworn condition, with all original contents included in the package. Upon receiving your return, Grand Seiko will verify the condition of the watch. If there are any missing items, damage, or wear found, you may be subject to fees accordingly. Please be sure to remove any jewelry or other watches before trying on the watch to avoid damage. Please do not size the watch if you return it as it will not be considered new.
