From the beginning, Grand Seiko strove to be the best possible watch. Longevity, accuracy, and wearability are principal areas of focus when any new watch is developed. That ambition found an apt symbol early on in the lion emblem adorning the case back of the first Grand Seiko. In 2019, a new sports watch case inspired by the lion arrived in the company’s Sport collection. Its sharp angles connecting flat surfaces proved a perfect canvas for the expression of Zaratsu polishing and contrasting hairline finishing. However, until this year, this formidable design was reserved for limited editions.
The opaline-colored dial features a pattern inspired by the flowing mane of the majestic feline. Beneath that dial is the automatic Spring Drive Caliber 9R65, which is highly resistant to shocks and accurate to 1 second per day / ±15 seconds per month on average.
The new SBGA481 “Tokyo Lion” is the first time-and-date watch featuring this case design to join the regular collection. With a Spring Drive movement that is resistant to shocks and 200 meters of water resistance, and a high-intensity titanium case and bracelet designed for everyday wear, SBGA481 doesn’t just look fierce, it’s also a serious sports watch that lives up to the high standards of Grand Seiko.

Products may be returned to Grand Seiko Boutique Online within 14 days of the delivery date. Option for a return and refund or exchange is possible when the watch is returned in new, unworn condition, with all original contents included in the package. Upon receiving your return, Grand Seiko will verify the condition of the watch. If there are any missing items, damage, or wear found, you may be subject to fees accordingly. Please be sure to remove any jewelry or other watches before trying on the watch to avoid damage. Please do not size the watch if you return it as it will not be considered new.
